      About Beyond Gravity

Headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, Beyond Gravity is developing and building crucial products for the satellites, launchers and semiconductor industry.

The division “Lithography” along with all its employees – including this position – is in acquisition process and will become ZEISS SMT by end of 2024. More information: https://www.zeiss.com/semiconductor-manufacturing-technology/news-and-events/smt-press-releases/2024/acquire-high-tech-company.html

      Your crew

You‘ll join a dynamic team of ~15 system and test engineers, where your role will focus around testing within a multidisciplinary project team. We are around 200 people in the Lithography division, including 60 engineers. We develop and build complex mechatronic modules as well as complete machines, providing the next-generation production equipment for the semiconductor industry.

      Your mission

As Senior Test Engineer of a high-end mechatronics project, you are responsible for complex test campaigns, which you plan, align with stakeholders, execute, and evaluate during development, qualification and series production.

      • Lead all testing activities of a project that enable verification of requirements marked “to be verified by test”, in close coordination with the responsible system engineer.
      • Be the technical authority for complex test campaigns, including planning, verification logic and test flow, test setup concepts, measurement architecture, and test procedures.
      • Define and manage the necessary test setups or supervise the development of new test equipment (perform component selection in exchange with measurement equipment suppliers, calibrate or improve existing equipment, shadow engineer suppliers).
      • Propose, plan, and execute agile and efficient breadboard engineering tests, prototype tests, material and lifetest to reduce key risks of the foreseen design.
      • Ensure the transfer of developed test setups from development to production environment, support the series test operation up to full automation of testing equipment.
      • Perform senior test engineering work in particular by evaluating test data including confidence level and measurement uncertainty and assess compliance to requirements.
      • Participate to reviews with stakeholders, including effective presentations of working results, justification of approach and result, and work towards agreement with the customer.
      • Establish and review technical project reports in English. E.g. test plan, test procedure, test setup design description, trade-off, sub-specification to equipment manufacturer, test reports.

      Your Story

      • Master or PhD in Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineering, Physics, or related fields.
      • At least 5 years applicable experience in testing of mechatronic products or similar.
      • Broad understanding and experience in mechatronics engineering for demanding applications, for example, lithography (mechatronic unit for optical systems), scientific instruments, MedTech, aerospace or vacuum applications.
      • In-depth knowledge in multiple of the following domains: Force/Position/Acceleration sensors and measurement equipment, test setup design, frequency response of a dynamic system model, Close-loop control systems, electrical engineering & testing, Stepper motor control, Python, LabView, MATLAB/Simulink, PLC.
