Introduction

• The Inter-Community School Zurich is the oldest international school in the Greater Zurich Area. Specific Responsibilities

• Cleaning and maintenance work of garden and grounds, cleanliness and tidiness of school grounds regular inspections. “Gebäudeunterhalt u. Umgebungsarbeiten”
• Provide assistance to other caretakers regarding general maintenance of school grounds
• Ecological waste management. Recycling of waste
• Assistance during the main cleaning carried out during school holidays
• Repair and maintenance of various school buildings and furniture, compliance with safety requirements met by the entire campus
• Support School Service Manager regarding service contracts, and liaise with contractors to ensure all work is carried out to the quality required within budgeted cost. Other administrative support and delivery
• Functions and events preparation and reset
• Preparation of halls for school activities. Event preparation and assisting in special events held at weekends (2-3 times per year)
• Winter service from 06:00 onwards as all paths, stairs, drives, etc. must be cleared of snow and ice by 08:00
• On-call hours are necessary to deal with maintenance issues as they arise

The successful candidate will have:

• Preferable qualifications in Fachmann Betriebsunterhalt
• Facility management software experience
• Garden and grounds upkeep experience
• Knowledge of German and English language
• Soft Skills
• Interested in a school setting
• Attention to detail
• Communication skills
• Time management
